Is the Eucharist really Jesus? Is it not a symbol?
According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the Church and the world are told that, "at the heart of the Eucharistic celebration are the bread and wine that, by the words of Christ and the invocation of the Holy Spirit, become Christ's Body and Blood. Faithful to the Lord's command the Church continues to do, in his memory and until his glorious return, what he did on the eve of his Passion."
In this week's brief and as we approach the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, Fr. Michael Simoes speaks about this very question, which goes back thousands of years to the time of Jesus and how it is a form of sacrificial love. We're happy to share with you our video resource on the Eucharist.
