AN IN-PERSON EVENT SPONSORED BY THE OFFICE FOR PROMOTING CHRISTIAN UNITY AND RELIGIOUS RELATIONS WITH JUDAISM
The word meditation comes from the Latin word Meditatio which means “to remain in the centre.” The stillness of body and mind during meditation gives room for the Spirit in us and outside of us to grow. And to grow spiritually means to be less self-conscious and more open to finer states of being like Love, Compassion, Care for Life in all its forms.
During this four-week course targeted to young adults, we will teach various topics linked to the roots of meditation in the Christian tradition and its practice. We will use scriptural references and also share writings by John Main OSB (1926-82) who revived Christian Meditation in the West.
We will of course practice meditation in each meeting and give directions on how to plant the seeds of meditation at home.
